Add fellow travellers
Friends and family contribute to the same journey — each with their own moments and point of view. What someone else wrote stays readable, not editable.
The independent travel book
Daunder brings together photos, routes and contributions from everyone travelling with you — then hands you the print-ready files, so you choose where the book gets printed.
Daunder is a travel journal that turns your photos, your route and the contributions of everyone travelling with you into a designed travel book — and then hands you the print-ready files instead of a checkout.
How it works
A simple process that grows with your journey — and keeps it from disappearing into your camera roll afterwards.
Collect stops, routes and photos, invite fellow travellers and tell your stories together.
Daunder turns your journey into a designed book that you can customise afterwards.
Download your print-ready book and decide for yourself where and how it gets printed.
Travel together
Invite your fellow travellers and turn individual memories into one shared story. Everyone adds their own steps and texts directly to the journey — and keeps authorship of what they wrote.
Friends and family contribute to the same journey — each with their own moments and point of view. What someone else wrote stays readable, not editable.
Contributions can be translated automatically, so a shared story still reads well when travellers write in German, English or Bulgarian.
The app
Real screens from the running app, in the appearance you are reading this page in. The journeys and photos are our own; the fellow travellers and their notes are demo accounts.
Phone screens are captured on iOS, tablet screens in the browser at tablet size — same code, same appearance settings, so the tablet shots carry no status bar or device frame. The app also runs on Android.
Print without detours
No mandatory book shop and no fixed printing service. Daunder gives you the finished files — you decide what happens next.
Measured on our own sample book: 35 pages, A4 landscape at 297 × 210 mm, page images at 300 dpi. More formats follow once they are tested, not before.
Your entire travel book in one finished file, ready to hand to a printer.
Every book page as an individual JPEG, rendered from the same document as the PDF.
High enough resolution for crisp book printing, not just for the screen.
All pages in one archive, so an upload to a print service is a single file.
How the book is dressed is a setting, not a rebuild. Below is the demo journey as the app actually lays it out — change a field and the book is set again, live, exactly as it would be for printing. No colour filter over a picture: the real thing, running.
Each variant brings its own settings, the way it does in the editor: the typeset book has a colour, a typeface and the line at the foot of the page; the scrapbook has a handwriting, what that handwriting sits on, and the shade of the board. So the fields change when you change the variant.
Typeset · Original · Warm · Georgia · Thread with a dot
Setting the book…
Scroll inside the book to leaf through it — this is the same layout the app produces for printing, A4 landscape.
⚠️ The journey in this demo is invented — the places, the texts and the two travellers were written for this page. The photographs are not: they are real, from one of our own trips. The book above is not a picture of a book: it is the same layout the app prints, running live.
No lock-in
Your book does not end at one provider’s checkout. Export your design and stay free to choose the format, the printing service and the number of copies — including none at all, if you would rather keep it as a file.
Good to know
Not yet. The Android app is built and signed but not published, and the iOS version runs but is not in the App Store. The web version works today — sign in with a one-time link and it runs in the browser, including on a phone.
By invitation. There is no self-service sign-up, which is part of how the data promise holds: an account exists because someone deliberately created it. Join the waitlist below and we will get in touch when the beta opens.
Yes. You can add fellow travellers to a journey. Everyone you invite contributes their own steps, texts and photos to the shared story, and each contribution keeps its author — other travellers can read it but not edit it.
Yes. Step titles and texts can be translated automatically between German, English and Bulgarian. The translation is stored alongside the original, and editing always happens on the original.
Yes. Daunder exports the book as a print-ready PDF and the individual pages as JPEG images at 300 dpi, so you can use any printing service that accepts those files.
A4 landscape at launch — our own sample book is a 35-page A4 landscape PDF. Further formats, page spreads and bleed for professional printers are planned, and we will only list them here once a real file proves them.
Daunder is free for three journeys of your own — with every book design and the print-ready files. Plus costs €24.99 a year or €3.99 a month and adds unlimited journeys and the AI tools. No VAT is charged (small business, § 19 UStG).
